Fashion and Your Italian Vacation

Fashion and Your Italian Vacation Italy is also well known for its fashion and is considered one of the fashion centres of the world. London, Paris, New York are not the only places that are listed as fashion centres, we should not forget Milan and Rome. Whe on your Italian vacation you may well feast your eyes on the aspects of Italian culture, yes you can go and visit the glorious rolling hills in Florence, take a trip in a gondola though venice or even visit a vineyard there in Tuscany. But if you are a traveller that is the least fashion concious, and you want to see fashion exhibits and public fashion exhibits in Milan or Rome then we should not forget the famous fashion brands in Italy like Armani, Prada, Fendi, Versace and Valentino. If you are visiting Rome you can of course visit the Vatican but you must not just be satisfied only in that if you have a strong passion for fashion you can visit some original signature stores of all the famous Italian designers. When you arrive in Italy the first thing travellers always see are the people there you can get to notice that Italians have a really strong fashion sense, they care mostly about their appearance and are very fashion sophisticated especially the people from Milan and Rome. You must visit the famous shopping strip Montenapoleone in Milan. Many famous boutiques will be found there including Chanel, Fendi and Dolce and Gabbana along with numerous others. Dont worry or dont get sad if your budget doesn't allow you to shop and purchase things from these boutiques you can enjoy them by just window shopping and have an incredible experience in this way even if you can't purchase. You can have pointers on where these places are found and what kind of things you can buy and next time you go back there maybe a purchase or two could be arranged. Boutiques opening hours are 10am till around 7pm Tuesdays to Saturdays but with shorter hours Mondays and closed all day Sunday. Italy is mostly known for their very high fashion Industry sometimes called "haute couture" the designers use this in their fashion shows to debut their collection each season, and did you know where these famous fashion brands originated? well and Fendi and Valentino originated in Rome while Versace, Prada, and Armani originated in Milan. Italian fashion is often compared to France and is said as to be a rival for those in France and a lot of people feel that Italian fashions are far more superior. During your Italian Vacation you might get to hear of AltaRoma. It is an organization that is responsible for bringing aspiring designers into the spotlight through its annual fashion shows. The popular fashion shows feature established designers together with new creative designers. They often hold these shows closed to the public but AltaRoma do have other shows that are open for the public. When you are having your vacation around mid July there is one open air fashion show in Rome held at Piazza de Spagna called Donna Sotto del Stelle which means "Woman under the Stars." that features a few new-age designers. If you wan't to take your couture culture to the highest level during your Italian vacation, go and visit Rome's most prominent fashion school. Here at this school they produce some of the most talented new-age designers and generally have shows and exhibitions that are open for the public. In 1990 Valentino also started a school of their own which at the same time host's fashion show's and art show's open for the public |
