Vital Information For Your Italian Vacation

One of the main reasons why people go and travel is to do sightseeing. Of course you can't just go on an Italian vacation without spending some time sightseeing. Italy is famous for its rich culture and rich history acquainted by this is its historic buildings, museums, monuments and all kinds of places that can make your vacation worth while. Italy is also the center for high fashion and along with its delicious food, friendly people, good wine and incredible Catholic churches that can make your vacation worthwhile. Arrange your itinerary so that you can see those important sights before leaving Italy because it can be a start of a good conversation and at the same time a great memory when you go back home. So maybe you are wondering where do most of the people go when they are on their Italian vacation? Well Rome is one and first on our list and it has several places that are perfect for sightseeing. A good example is The Colosseum which is the most famous landmark in Rome. The Colosseum is the ruin of a huge open air theatre built by the Emperor Titus in AD80 for the use of field games and Gladiatorial battles. Usually people visit the Colosseum because they saw the movie "Gladiator". Another magnificent sight in Rome is the Pantheon which is a huge ancient temple that was built in AD120 and until the 1960's the Pantheon was the largest dome anywhere in the world. Also Rome is home to our beloved Pope in the Vatican City which is another great place to visit for sightseeing. There are also popular sightseeing cities like Milan, Naples, Venice and Sicily. Another outstanding place is the Leaning Tower of Pisa even though Pisa is just a small town compared to Rome it is still famous because of the tower. It was built in 1173 and construction went on for over 200 years. This was because of many interruptions while it was being constructed. The tower is the bell tower of the Pisa Cathedral which comprises 4 marvelous white marble buildings. Because the bell tower took so long to be constructed, and had so many different builders working on it, some shortcuts were taken and lax building practices caused it to start to lean and this is how it got its name from. If you happen to know some Italian while you are on you vacation you maybe able to arrange and see all the sights for yourself. A better way to consider is having someone else do some arrangements for you so that you wont miss those important sights and the real benefit from guided tours is that you have a well informed guide to tell you the history. Italy has numerous sightseeing companies that are available to assist you. Most often your guided tour will follow a pre-arranged route through the chosen city or town but some tour companies allow you some flexibility during your Italian Vacation. Yes we all know that tourist guides are often fluent in English and this is not all that they are capable of as they also have an enormous wealth of information about the historical information and there's always an opportunity to ask some questions. Several of the tours allow you to alight the vehicle so that you can explore the place and then another of the companies vehicles will arrive to pick you up. Or if walking is not for you, you can just sit and relax and enjoy your ride on the bus. The sightseeing tours usually range in price and quality and they have luxury tours, night tours, and also several budget tours for thrifty vacationers.
